Prime Minister Ghrib Attends Jijel Wildfire Funerals

Algerian Prime Minister Sief Ghrib, accompanied by several members of the government, participated in the funerals of wildfire victims in Jijel on Friday, August 28, 2026. This participation, made on the instruction of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, underscored the state's direct engagement and support in the wake of the tragedy that struck the wilaya.
The funeral ceremonies, held at the Dar El Baqa cemetery in the Jumaa Beni Habibi area, took place in an atmosphere of profound mourning and national solidarity. Families of the victims, local authorities, and a large gathering of citizens were present, expressing their profound condolences and support for the bereaved families.
During the solemn event, Prime Minister Ghrib presented the condolences of President Tebboune, praying for the souls of the deceased and wishing them vast mercy. He also asked for swift and complete recovery for those injured, and for the preservation of Algeria and its people from all harm, reinforcing the nation's collective resilience.
