Local authorities across Algeria’s wilayas have launched a comprehensive work program in preparation for the 2026 summer season, dzwatch has learned.
The program, initiated under directives issued during the latest coordination meeting with regional governors, aims to ensure full readiness of all facilities and services dedicated to summer visitors.
Key measures include holding regular coordination meetings to monitor preparation progress, intensifying field visits to inspect coastal and beachfront development projects — particularly regarding lighting, public paving, and dedicated visitor spaces.
Authorities are also accelerating beach cleaning operations, household and solid waste collection, and reinforcing dedicated sanitation teams and equipment.
Additionally, awareness campaigns are being organized for citizens on forest fire prevention, swimming dangers in unguarded areas, and environmental protection to ensure a safe and enjoyable summer season nationwide.
