President Tebboune Praises Algeria’s Housing Sector as a National Source of Pride

President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune praised, this Sunday, the achievements made in Algeria’s housing sector, describing it as a “source of pride for Algeria.” He highlighted the level reached in this field thanks to the efforts of loyal men who remain committed to the legacy of the nation’s martyrs.
The President made the statement while inaugurating the new urban hub named after the late mujahid Ahmed Taleb Ibrahimi, located in the new city of Sidi Abdellah, in Rahmania, west of Algiers.
In his speech, President Tebboune said that the housing sector has become one of Algeria’s major achievements. He noted that Algerian citizens are now able to obtain housing at an average age of between 30 and 31 years, which he described as a very acceptable level.
The President also valued the trust shown by citizens toward the institutions responsible for building and delivering these housing projects. On this occasion, he instructed the Minister of Housing, Urban Planning, the City and Regional Planning, Tarek Belaribi, to convey his sincere greetings to all members of the housing and urban planning sector. He also encouraged them to continue what he described as the major victories Algeria is achieving quietly and steadily.
President Tebboune also referred to the progress recorded in various sectors, saying that these achievements are a source of satisfaction. He said the country has reached this level thanks to the efforts of loyal officials committed to honoring the sacrifices of Algeria’s martyrs.
In the same context, the President stated that one of Algeria’s strengths lies in the fact that most public spending is directed toward social balance, particularly in health, housing, education, and training. He stressed that these areas are connected and must move forward together in order to reach the desired goals.
He also pointed to Algeria’s efforts to fight drought and water shortages through national expertise, resources, and funding. According to him, work is underway to supply citizens with drinking water through seawater desalination plants, currently covering 40 percent of needs, with the rate expected to reach 62 percent once ongoing projects are completed.
Finally, President Tebboune said that choosing Independence Day for the distribution of housing units aims to make this date a lasting memory for Algerian children, while praising the awareness and strong patriotic spirit of the country’s youth.
