Provisional Results of Algeria’s Legislative Elections to Be Announced Today

The National Independent Authority for Elections announced that the provisional results of the legislative elections held on July 2, 2026, will be made public today, Monday.

According to a statement issued by the authority, the results will be announced during a press conference led by the acting president of the National Independent Authority for Elections. The conference is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Center in Algiers.

The announcement concerns the election of members of the People’s National Assembly, which took place last Thursday across the entire national territory. The provisional results are expected to provide a clearer picture of the new political representation following the vote.

This stage represents an important step in the electoral process, as the announcement of provisional results comes after the completion of voting operations and the collection of data from polling stations across the country and abroad.

According to figures previously presented by the acting president of the National Independent Authority for Elections, Karim Khelfan, the voter turnout in the legislative elections reached 20.79 percent at the close of polling across Algeria.

The authority also reported that the participation rate among Algerians living abroad stood at 10.67 percent. These figures reflect the level of participation recorded both inside and outside the country during this electoral event.

The legislative elections were organized to allow citizens to choose their representatives in the People’s National Assembly. The institution plays a key role in the country’s political and legislative life, particularly through the discussion and adoption of laws, the monitoring of public action, and the representation of citizens’ concerns.

The announcement of the provisional results is therefore awaited by political parties, candidates, observers, and citizens, as it will indicate the initial distribution of seats and the general outcome of the vote.

Following this announcement, the electoral process will continue in accordance with the legal procedures in force, including the handling of any possible appeals before the final results are confirmed.

The press conference scheduled for today at the Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Center will thus mark a significant moment in the post-election phase and in the formation of the new People’s National Assembly.
