Civil Protection Extinguishes 26 Vegetation Fires in 24 Hours

The General Directorate of Civil Protection in Algeria successfully extinguished 26 vegetation fires across multiple wilayas within a 24-hour timeframe. This operational achievement highlights the continuous efforts of national emergency services to manage and mitigate environmental threats. The Civil Protection's balance sheet, compiled up to 7:00 AM on Saturday, indicated a total of 27 fires affecting vegetation, agricultural crops, and palm groves were recorded during this period.
Civil Protection units demonstrated their capability by bringing 26 of these reported incidents under control. The rapid response effectively contained widespread damage, underscoring the preparedness and efficiency of the personnel involved.
While the majority of fires were extinguished, one operation remained ongoing for a fire in scrubland and maquis in the Fouia area of Jijel wilaya. Civil Protection authorities have confirmed that this particular incident currently poses no danger, ensuring public safety and minimizing environmental impact.
