Tirssam-Sinotruk Partnership Achieves 3,000 Heavy Truck Production

The Algerian group Tirssam, in collaboration with its Chinese partner Sinotruk, has announced the production of 3,000 heavy trucks, marking a significant milestone in its industrial capacity. This achievement, aimed at enhancing national integration in vehicle manufacturing, coincided with a high-level visit from Liu Zhengtao, the CEO of Sinotruk. During his visit to the Tirssam plant in Batna, a new project for a heavy truck welding line was also launched, signifying a crucial step toward developing manufacturing capabilities and facilitating technology transfer.

Samir Maala, CEO of Tirssam, highlighted that this strategic partnership aims to solidify the presence of both Sinotruk and Tirssam brands within the Algerian market. The collaboration is designed to meet the growing demands of the transport and logistics sectors, with a clear vision for expanding operations into regional markets and pursuing export opportunities. This initiative is presented as aligning with the President's national program, which focuses on increasing local integration rates and fostering the development of local subcontracting within the industry.

From the Chinese partner's perspective, Sinotruk CEO Liu Zhengtao affirmed a shared ambition for the Tirssam plant in Batna to evolve into one of Sinotruk's largest manufacturing facilities outside of China. He also commended the Algerian partner's capabilities and underscored the importance of their cooperation in delivering high-quality products and services tailored to the Algerian market. Tirssam frames this industrial progression as part of a comprehensive strategy, encompassing sustained investment, technology transfer, skills development, and the integration of local suppliers, all contributing to substantial added value for the national economy.
