Mostaganem Gendarmerie Seizes 196kg Kif, Halts Global Network

Algerian security forces have carried out effective operations, delivering significant blows to drug smuggling networks within the country. The Ministry of National Defense announced the outcomes of these efforts, which took place between August 12 and 18, 2026, underscoring the ongoing commitment to national security and public safety.
Among the notable achievements, the National Gendarmerie in Mostaganem successfully dismantled an international criminal network. This operation led to the seizure of 196 kilograms of processed kif, demonstrating the capabilities of Algerian forces in intercepting large quantities of illicit substances and disrupting organized criminal activities.
Further operations by the National Gendarmerie also yielded substantial results in Boumerdes, where forces confiscated over 1.2 million hallucinogenic tablets. Additionally, more than 1 kilogram of cocaine was seized, highlighting the extensive reach and consistent vigilance of Algerian security personnel in combating various forms of drug trafficking.
