President Tebboune Honors Mujahideen, Urges National Advancement

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune delivered a message on National Mujahid Day, observing the dual anniversary of the North Constantine Offensive on August 20, 1955, and the Soummam Congress on August 20, 1956. In his address, President Tebboune urged the current generation to uphold the profound message of the Mujahideen and martyrs, drawing upon their immense sacrifices to further national development and realize the aspirations of the esteemed November generation. This commemoration serves to reinforce the significance of historical stations that remind the nation of the Mujahideen's elevated status and express pride in Algeria's victorious present.
The President underscored that the events of August 20, 1955, particularly the North Constantine Offensive led by Zighoud Youcef, exemplified strength, heroism, and the readiness for sacrifice under the banner of the National Liberation Front and the National Liberation Army. He noted that the lessons from this offensive emphasize Algeria's steadfast commitment to cohesion, solidarity, and national unity. Furthermore, the Soummam Congress of August 20, 1956, represented a qualitative shift, articulating a multi-dimensional strategy that established a new balance in the conflict through comprehensive planning and organization. This congress envisioned an integrated project for managing the revolution across military, logistical, organizational, and legislative dimensions, establishing institutions that reflected the revolution's objectives in various fields.
President Tebboune highlighted that the National Liberation Revolution, transformed by these strategic shifts, altered the dynamics of traditional colonialism not only in Algeria but also for oppressed peoples globally. He emphasized that recalling the symbolism and esteemed position of the Mujahid in the national consciousness aligns with pride in "victorious Algeria's present." This present is characterized by safeguarding national sovereignty, strengthening robust state institutions, and relying on the awareness of its youth and the cohesion of its people. The President concluded his message by paying homage to the martyrs and extending appreciation to all Mujahideen, male and female.
