Algiers Hosts German Green Hydrogen, Energy Storage Meeting

Algeria is set to host an economic and technical meeting in Algiers on September 21, focusing on green hydrogen, Power-to-X technologies, and energy storage solutions. Organized by the German-Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the event aims to reinforce Algerian-German cooperation and advance clean energy projects, particularly within the framework of the SoutH2 corridor. This meeting, scheduled from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, forms part of a broader exploratory mission for projects in both Algeria and Tunisia, spanning from September 21 to 25.

The meeting will feature a delegation of German companies with expertise in technologies and equipment across the green hydrogen and renewable energy value chains. These participants will present their specialized solutions in various critical areas for developing green hydrogen projects. Key areas of focus include electrolysis technologies, water treatment and desalination, storage and compression systems, industrial equipment, the rehabilitation and conversion of networks and pipelines, materials and engineering, conformity and accreditation certificates, and feasibility studies. These specialized technologies are considered essential for establishing a comprehensive system for green hydrogen production, transportation, and utilization.

Expected attendees include representatives from Algerian public institutions, the energy sector, industrial operators, investors, and financing entities. The event's agenda comprises institutional and technical presentations, a dedicated networking session, and pre-scheduled bilateral B2B meetings. These arrangements are designed to facilitate direct discussions on potential projects and partnerships, enabling Algerian organizations to engage with the latest German solutions and technologies in green hydrogen and energy storage, thereby fostering collaborative ventures.

The organization of this meeting underscores Algeria's growing commitment to developing green hydrogen and enhancing clean energy cooperation with Germany. It offers a significant opportunity for Algerian institutions to explore partnerships and joint projects in a sector that is central to Algeria's strategy for diversifying its energy mix and strengthening its position in the clean energy market. Discussions will be conducted in French and English, with further details regarding the official invitation, the detailed program, and the complete list of participating German companies to be announced at a later date.
