Slovenian Fair Highlights Algerian Export Potential

Algeria actively promoted its 'Made in Algeria' label and strengthened economic partnerships as an honored guest at the 64th International Agriculture and Food Fair, Agra 2026, held in Gornja Radgona, Slovenia. This participation, taking place amid a notable rapprochement between the two capitals, aimed to enhance the visibility of Algerian products and explore new international markets. The initiative underscores ongoing efforts to boost non-hydrocarbon exports and diversify the national economy.

Throughout the fair, the Algerian pavilion consistently attracted a significant number of visitors, professionals, and economic operators who expressed keen interest in the exhibited products. Observations from the Ministry of External Trade and Export Promotion noted appreciation for the quality, diversity, and export potential of Algerian goods. The high regard for Algeria's presence was further highlighted by the visit of the Slovenian President to the national pavilion, underscoring the interest in Algeria's agricultural and agri-food capabilities and elevating its image at the international exchange.

Nineteen Algerian economic operators, representing various sectors with high export potential, participated under the supervision of the Ministry of External Trade and Export Promotion. This involvement is integral to the ministry's strategy to promote Algerian products, access new markets, and facilitate international market entry for operators. Concurrently, producers and economic operators engaged in direct networking with foreign counterparts, leveraging the fair not only to showcase Algerian expertise but also to explore new agricultural technologies.

The engagement extended to high-level discussions, including the co-chairing of the Algerian-Slovenian Business Forum by Algeria's Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Baddari, and Slovenia's Minister of Agriculture, Janez Žegler Kralj. During the forum, Minister Baddari emphasized Algeria's substantial material and human resources dedicated to supporting innovation and agricultural development, affirming the readiness of Algerian companies to collaborate on significant projects and cultivate fruitful partnerships. This strong presence and dialogue align with a strategic roadmap for economic collaboration established during a prior head of state summit in spring 2025, signaling a commitment to new contracts, technology transfers, and enduring partnerships.
