Ghrib Conducts Aerial Inspection of Jijel Fire-Hit Areas

Prime Minister Seifi Ghrib conducted an aerial tour by helicopter on Friday, inspecting villages and regions in Jijel province affected by recent wildfires. This direct observation allowed the Prime Minister to assess the extent of the damage caused by the fires.

Prior to the aerial survey, the Prime Minister met with several victim families at the cultural center in Djemaa Beni Habibi municipality. During these meetings, he conveyed the condolences of the President of the Republic and reaffirmed the state's unwavering support. He also emphasized the government's commitment to accompanying the affected families, addressing their concerns, and implementing all necessary measures to alleviate the impact of the tragedy. Public authorities, he noted, would provide full attention and care to their needs and work to address them promptly.

Earlier the same day, on behalf of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Prime Minister, accompanied by several government members, participated in the funeral rites for the wildfire victims in Jijel. The solemn ceremony took place at Dar El Baqa cemetery in Djemaa Beni Habibi. This visit was part of a broader mission to Jijel, initiated on Thursday, where the Prime Minister was tasked by the President to evaluate the situation on the ground, monitor intervention and extinguishing operations, oversee the care of victims, and review support measures for those affected.
