This initiative was affirmed by the Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, highlighting Algeria’s readiness to welcome Mauritanian technicians and professionals for training, particularly at Sonatrach institutes like the Algerian Institute of Petroleum. The training encompasses various fields including hydrocarbons management, and Sonelgaz institutes are set to offer expertise in electricity production, transmission, distribution, and maintenance. Additionally, there are prospects for enhancing mining skills in both nations.

According to a statement from the ministry, the Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines, during a meeting with the Mauritanian Minister of Employment and Professional Training, Zeinab Ahmednah, provided an overview of the training specializations and levels available at the sector’s training institutes. He emphasized the energy and mining sector’s focus on human resource development through continuous training and support for workers and professionals in their career paths, facilitated by training institutions and institutes nationwide.

During this meeting, both sides discussed the brotherly bilateral relations and ways to strengthen and develop them in the energy and mining fields. This especially pertains to training and capacity building in areas related to hydrocarbons, electricity, and mining.
