Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf Responds to Neighboring Country’s Official

On Monday, Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf responded to a derogatory statement made by a representative of a neighboring country. Attaf emphasized that Algeria would only reply in a polite and dignified manner, in line with the country’s esteemed reputation.

Speaking during the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Attaf referred to remarks made by Malian government spokesperson Abdoulaye Maïga, describing them as “disrespectful” and stating that Algeria would not engage in such “trivial and vile verbal attacks.”

The Algerian diplomat reiterated the nation’s strong commitment to working with all neighboring countries to build a region characterized by peace and security, following the principles set by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

Attaf also highlighted Algeria’s efforts to strengthen its relations with its African neighbors and partners, stressing that the security and stability of the Sahel region are an integral part of Algeria’s concerns and responsibilities within Africa.
