Algeria Launches Massive Market Surveillance Program Ahead of Eid Al-Adha 2026

Algeria’s Ministry of Domestic Trade and National Market Regulation has announced the activation of a comprehensive price control and supply program ahead of Eid Al-Adha 2026, ensuring citizens have stable access to essential goods and high-demand services.

The ministry told dzwatch that the operation falls under Article 8 of Law 13-06, amended by Law 04-08, governing commercial activity conditions across the country.

A total of 2,684 inspectors have been deployed nationwide to monitor 53,771 traders, including 6,602 in the bakery sector, 28,663 in food and produce markets, and 17,905 across various commercial activities.

The program also covers 541 production units — 159 dairy facilities, 336 mills, and 46 mineral water plants.

Citizens can use the ‘Mrafek Koum’ digital app to view the list of participating traders and report violations directly to authorities for swift intervention.
