Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf, representing Algeria, arrived in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, today. He was sent by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to participate in the preparatory ministerial meeting for the Africa-Korea Summit, scheduled for June 4-5.

The ministerial meeting will see the participation of African foreign ministers alongside their South Korean counterpart. This meeting serves as a precursor to the first summit between the two sides, which aims to enhance the partnership established between African countries and South Korea since 2006, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Algeria’s involvement in this event underscores its desire to strengthen its strategic partnership with South Korea and its commitment to collective action within the African family. The goal is to streamline partnerships and guide them towards contributing to continental objectives, namely peace, security, and development.
