ENSIA Director Emphasizes National AI for Algeria’s Digital Needs

The National Superior School of Artificial Intelligence (ENSIA), established to meet Algeria's digital and technological ambitions, has emerged as a center of academic excellence. Its director, Abdelmalik Bachir, underscored the crucial contribution of nationally trained artificial intelligence competencies to fulfilling the country's strategic needs. ENSIA focuses on developing high-level expertise in AI, data science, and supporting IT disciplines, attracting top baccalaureate students who demonstrate a growing interest in these fields.

The school maintains a highly selective admission process and offers a rigorous, balanced curriculum grounded in strong mathematical and computer science fundamentals. The programs cover both theoretical foundations and practical applications of artificial intelligence and data science, while also incorporating essential skills such as communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, entrepreneurship, innovation, project management, and ethics. ENSIA integrates practice and research, providing students and researchers with advanced computational infrastructure and a dedicated laboratory, aiming to empower graduates to concretely contribute to national needs across various sectors.

ENSIA actively fosters engagement with the socio-economic sector through strategic partnerships with major entities like Sonatrach, Algérie Télécom, and the Algerian Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies (UAR). These collaborations encompass training, research, innovation, internships, and scientific activities, specifically addressing real-world problems such as risk analysis, fraud detection, and data exploitation. The institution also emphasizes an international outlook, welcoming students from across Africa and aspiring for Algeria to become a regional hub for AI training and collaboration, all while promoting responsible and ethical applications of artificial intelligence.
