New Maritime Line Connects Algerian Ports to West Africa

The National Company for the Transport of Goods, Kinane Algérie, has initiated a new regular maritime line that connects Algerian ports to destinations in Mauritania and Senegal. This service includes stops in Nouakchott and Nouadhibou in Mauritania, as well as Dakar in Senegal. The company announced that these voyages will be organized every 30 days, with a transit time of up to six days, as part of efforts to enhance maritime connections between Algeria and African markets and support commercial exchanges, particularly Algerian exports outside the hydrocarbon sector.
To support this new route, Kinane Algérie has deployed a fleet comprising nine Algerian-flagged vessels. This fleet includes two ships specifically designed for container transport and seven ships allocated for general cargo, enabling the handling of various types of shipments and meeting the diverse needs of economic operators. This strategic move aligns with Algeria's broader objective of expanding the presence of its products in African markets, particularly within the West African region, by providing consistent maritime transport solutions that facilitate the access of national products to their destinations and enhance their competitiveness.
The establishment of this line is expected to support economic operators interested in developing their export activities towards Mauritania, Senegal, and other markets in the region. Furthermore, this initiative is anticipated to reinforce Algeria's position as a key commercial gateway to Africa. It reflects Kinane Algérie's commitment to expanding its logistical services and accommodating the growing volume of national exports, thereby supporting the country's strategy to diversify foreign markets and strengthen Algerian-African trade relations.
