Conakry, Brazzaville, Lagos Join Air Algérie Network

Air Algérie is scheduled to launch three new direct flight routes to sub-Saharan Africa. These services to Conakry, Brazzaville, and Lagos are set to commence from late October 2026, with reservations currently open. This expansion marks a significant step in the national carrier's ongoing efforts to develop and strengthen its African network.
The new Conakry route will operate three times per week, utilizing a Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. Brazzaville is also slated to receive three weekly rotations, beginning October 26, with services provided by the same aircraft type. For Lagos, Air Algérie plans to offer flights combined with Abuja, thereby enhancing its overall presence in Nigeria. Each Boeing 737 MAX 8 in the airline's fleet has a seating capacity of 186 passengers.
This network expansion coincides with Air Algérie's comprehensive fleet modernization program. The airline ordered ten Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft in March 2026, with five expected for delivery by the end of this year and the remaining five in 2027; two units were received in late July following an initial delivery several weeks prior. The modernization extends to long-haul operations, with the first Airbus A330-900 having been integrated in November 2025 and seven additional aircraft of this model planned. These new aircraft are intended to support the development of further international routes. Air Algérie aims to serve 9.8 million travelers in 2026, an increase from approximately 8.8 million in 2025, a progression attributed to its expanding network and fleet renewal initiatives.
