Prime Minister Ghrieb Attends Mediterranean Games Opening in Italy

Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb represented President Abdelmadjid Tebboune at the official opening ceremony of the 20th Mediterranean Games, held in Tarente, Italy. From the honorary stand of the main stadium, Mr. Ghrieb observed the opening events, which included the presence of Italian President Sergio Mattarella, along with several other heads of state and government, and delegations from participating nations.

The ceremony featured a parade of the sports delegations, including the Algerian team, which is participating with 248 athletes across 27 disciplines. This high-level attendance by the Prime Minister underscores Algeria's consistent commitment to supporting its athletes and highlights the importance the nation places on this regional sporting event.

Algeria's participation, marking its sixteenth consecutive appearance at the Mediterranean Games, reflects the country's dedication to leveraging sports as a means for communication, rapprochement, and strengthening ties among the peoples and countries of the Mediterranean basin.
