Tebboune, Saïed Affirm Strong Ties, Form United Front

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria held a phone conversation today with Tunisian President Kaïs Saïed. The two leaders discussed the strong and fraternal relations between their respective countries and peoples, according to a statement from the Algerian Presidency. Their discussions also focused on enhancing cooperation across all fields, aiming to serve the mutual interests of the two sister nations.
Beyond strengthening bilateral ties, the presidential exchange emphasized a "common front" against attempts at external destabilization. This significant development underscores Algeria's unconditional support for Tunisia's stability. Such a stance is consistent with earlier declarations by President Tebboune, who in July had articulated that Tunisia's security is intrinsically linked to Algeria's own.
President Tebboune has previously underscored the strategic priority of Tunisian sovereignty, asserting that Algeria would not permit any entity to introduce terrorism or threaten Tunisia with it. This firm position emerges amid reports of external influences and interferences designed to weaken the leadership in Tunis. The reinforcement of this bilateral partnership is consequently viewed by both capitals as a fundamental element for ensuring cross-border security and preserving regional sovereignty.
