Algerian and South Sudanese Foreign Ministers Discuss Bilateral Cooperation at “Kimaks Africa 2023

Ahmed Attaf, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, hosted his counterpart from the Republic of South Sudan, James Beta Morgan, today at the International Conference Center. Morgan’s visit to Algeria is part of his participation in the high-level event, “Kimaks Africa 2023.”

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions between the two sides centered on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in political, diplomatic, and economic fields. They also delved into the latest developments on the continental level, particularly in the Sahel-Saharan region.

Additionally, security and political conditions in the Republic of Sudan were on the agenda, with a focus on the progress made in implementing the revitalized peace agreement, which Algeria supports due to its membership in the high-level African committee responsible for monitoring its implementation.

To conclude their talks, the diplomatic heads of both countries signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a mechanism for political consultations between their respective foreign ministries.
