Hazem Imam, a member of the board of directors of the Egyptian Football Association, emphasized the importance of Egypt’s upcoming friendly matches against Zambia and Algeria on October 12 and 16 this year.

Imam stated during an interview with Abu Dhabi Sports Channel on Tuesday, “The clash between Egypt and Algeria is an Arab summit between two brotherly national teams.”

He continued, “Our goal is not just to win the match, but to assess where we stand, the level of our performance, and, of course, we hope for victory.”

Imam added, “These matches against Zambia and Algeria serve as a valuable test for us, and if we happen to lose, we must learn from the reasons behind the defeat.”

He went on to say, “In our previous training camp, we suffered a loss to Tunisia, as we were not in the best form, especially considering that the players hadn’t played with their club teams. However, in the current gathering, we feel more prepared, and the players have participated in league matches, with some even featuring in African competitions.”

Imam concluded his remarks by saying, “The national team is complete in this camp, except for Imam Ashour, whom we wish a speedy recovery. We also hope to see a strong presence of fans in both matches.”

In these upcoming friendly matches, Egypt aims to evaluate its team’s performance, gain experience, and prepare for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. The focus is not solely on winning but on building a strong foundation for success in future competitions. The matches against Algeria and Zambia hold special significance as they represent an opportunity for the Egyptian national team to assess its progress and learn from any setbacks. Egypt is looking forward to strong fan support in these exciting encounters.
