Vote Counting Begins in Legislative Elections After Polling Stations Close Nationwide

The process of counting voters’ ballots in the legislative elections for the People’s National Assembly began after polling stations closed across the entire national territory.

The National Independent Authority for Elections had previously announced, in a statement, that the closing time of polling stations for the election of members of the People’s National Assembly across all electoral districts within the country had been extended until 8:00 p.m.

The decision to extend the closing time was made at the request of the provincial coordinators.

Voter turnout in the legislative elections inside the country reached 11.24 percent by 3:00 p.m., across 69 provinces.
