Zahane Inaugurates Expansion Project of Bejaia Airport Terminal

Minister of Transport Mohamed Habib Zahane commenced a working visit to the province of Bejaia today, where he inspected several projects related to the sector.

The minister inaugurated the expansion project of the Soummam Abane Ramdane Airport terminal, instructing that its architectural style should align with the region’s characteristics.

Zahane reviewed the airport’s readiness to ensure passengers, particularly the Algerian diaspora during the summer season, travel under the best conditions.

The minister and his accompanying delegation examined the new equipment, especially the baggage handling area, reception and guidance counters, and various crossing procedures. They also listened to explanations about the measures taken in this regard.

On this occasion, the Minister of Transport emphasized the necessity of providing all material and human resources to optimally care for passengers.

Zahane stressed the importance of maintaining security and safety, adhering to cleanliness standards in the facilities and restrooms, and providing comfortable amenities such as seating areas and prayer rooms. He highlighted the need to improve passenger guidance and information conditions, reduce the time it takes to process departing passengers, and expedite baggage delivery for arriving travelers. Special attention should be given to the elderly and individuals with special needs.

Additionally, the minister called for enhanced coordination among various stakeholders, including airport management, the airline company, Algerian customs, and national security services.
