Education Minister: No Tolerance for Compromising Exam Integrity

Education Minister Abdelhakim Belabed emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity of national exams, declaring zero tolerance for any attempts to compromise them. This announcement was made during the official launch of the 2024 Middle School Certificate Exam in El Tarf Province on Monday.

During a press conference following the start of the exams, Belabed stated that he would visit Annaba Province to observe the physics exam, followed by a visit to Saïda Province. He assured that all exam centers across the country are organized with stringent measures.

The Minister also highlighted that the basic education law is undergoing revisions and enhancements, as directed by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to significantly improve the education sector.

Belabed pointed out that reducing the weight of schoolbags and simplifying curricula are part of President Tebboune’s program, especially for primary education. He emphasized that clear and decisive guidelines have been set to elevate educational standards to international levels.

The Minister noted a downward trend in cheating incidents, reaffirming that there will be no tolerance for compromising the integrity of exams.

Over 818,000 students, distributed across 3,040 centers, began the Middle School Certificate Exam today.
