Health Ministry Defines National Autism Screening Pathway

The Ministry of Health has established a national pathway for the early screening and diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder among students. This initiative marks a significant step towards enhancing the identification and support for suspected cases, ultimately improving the quality of care provided to children with autism across the nation.

This comprehensive pathway clarifies the mechanisms for student referral, diagnosis, and subsequent care. By streamlining these processes, the Ministry aims to ensure that students with autism spectrum disorder receive timely and appropriate interventions.

The introduction of this national framework is part of the ongoing preparations for the 2026-2027 academic year. It underscores Algeria's proactive approach to public health, demonstrating a commitment to the welfare and educational inclusion of all its students, particularly those requiring specialized support.
