National Women’s Team Secures Inaugural World Cup Berth

Algeria's national women's football team has achieved a historic milestone, securing qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup. The Vertes returned to Algeria with a medal and their inaugural World Cup berth, marking a significant moment in the nation's sports history. Upon their arrival in Algiers, the delegation was welcomed by Nadir Bouzenad, Secretary General of the Federation, in a festive atmosphere. National coach Farid Benstiti lauded his players' journey as "almost legendary," recognizing their performance as the result of hard work, confidence, patience, and steadfast support from both the Algerian public and Federation officials.

Players expressed profound joy and pride in their achievement, with captain Marine Dafeur highlighting the importance of the support received throughout the competition and the team's commitment to honoring the trust of the Algerian people. Midfielder Lina Boussaha conveyed gratitude to Algerian supporters and urged continued encouragement for upcoming challenges, including Olympic qualifications and the World Cup. Goalkeeper Chloé N'Gazi shared sentiments of pride in writing history for Algeria and for the nation's people, acknowledging the path paved for future generations.
