OIC Session Hears Algerian Call for End to Israeli Aggression

Algeria's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, participated in an extraordinary session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. During the session, Minister Attaf reaffirmed Algeria's consistent and unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the legitimate, inalienable national rights of the Palestinian people. This diplomatic engagement underscored Algeria's steadfast commitment to the principles of justice and self-determination in international forums.

In his address, Minister Attaf reiterated Algeria's firm stance on the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent, sovereign state with Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions. He further emphasized the urgent need to halt Israeli aggressions, including those on Arab territories, and stressed the imperative of respecting state sovereignty and territorial integrity. This comprehensive position highlights Algeria's commitment to a just and lasting peace.

Minister Attaf also advocated for de-escalation and prioritized dialogue and peaceful means to resolve crises, aiming to foster suitable conditions for security and stability in the Middle East. He called for intensified collective efforts and unified action to ensure international protection for the Palestinian people and to end violations. Concluding his remarks, Minister Attaf underscored the importance of strengthening joint Islamic action to enable the OIC to effectively defend the interests and just causes of its member states.
