The National Organization of Algerian Journalists (NOAJ) announced today that the upcoming presidential elections on September 7th represent a “critical milestone” that requires the mobilization of journalists to contribute to the success of this significant event.
In a statement, the organization noted that participants in the meeting of the National Committee for Audiovisual, attended by journalists from various public and private media institutions, unanimously agreed that the upcoming presidential elections are a vital and decisive moment necessitating journalists’ commitment to ensure the success of this important date in strengthening the building of state institutions.
They also highlighted the importance of training programs in “elevating professional journalistic performance and enhancing adherence to professional standards and ethics during the electoral process.”
On this occasion, the President of the organization, Slimane Abdouh, reiterated the need to “continue efforts to advance the communication sector in a way that serves the noble mission of journalism and media.”
