In a recent development, the Israeli military has confirmed the targeting and hitting of one of its aircraft by an anti-tank missile. This incident took place last Saturday and was attributed to the military wing of Hamas, known as the Al-Qassam Brigades. Additionally, reports from Israeli Channel 13 suggest that a military helicopter crashed on the first day of the “Operation Aqsa Storm,” initiated by Palestinian resistance factions in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli Channel 13 shared images of the military helicopter engulfed in flames, stating that it was carrying a group of paratroopers destined for combat near the settlement of Bari in the Gaza Strip when it was hit by an RPG (rocket-propelled grenade) fired by Al-Qassam members.

It’s worth noting that the aircraft in question was identified as a “Yasur” helicopter. This confirmation comes amidst a backdrop of uncertainty and speculations within Israeli circles and Palestinian sources. Reports from Hebrew-language media had hinted at a prior attack on an Israeli helicopter, which has now been affirmed.

Meanwhile, the Al-Qassam Brigades reported that their fighters crossed the separation fence east of Khan Yunis, engaged with Israeli forces, and destroyed three military vehicles. The clash continues as part of the “Operation Aqsa Storm,” which has entered its eighth day. This operation has seen continuous airstrikes by the Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip since last Saturday, resulting in numerous casualties, including children and women, as well as widespread destruction of residential buildings and vital facilities.

This latest development underscores the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestinian factions, a situation that has garnered international attention and concern.
