The Algerian Minister of Interior and Local Communities, Ibrahim Murad, revealed a significant financial package allocated for the Tindouf Province as part of the supplementary program for the province. During a meeting with local provincial authorities and elected officials to discuss the province’s supplementary program, Minister Murad confirmed that Tindouf will benefit from a substantial financial envelope estimated at 3800 billion centimes. Additionally, 7 billion dinars have been allocated to the Guarantee Fund for Local Communities to carry out 58 development operations.

Murad emphasized the strategic importance of the Algerian-Mauritanian permanent border crossing, which is a significant gain for Tindouf. He stressed that the province would become an industrial hub, creating significant movement in the region through the major projects it has benefited from. The Interior Minister also referred to the commitment of the President of the Republic to realize a supplementary program that aligns with the region’s needs.

Murad added, “Significant efforts are being made by the state to boost the developmental pace in Tindouf Province. However, it remains below the level we aspire for this important province.” He regarded the President’s approval of the supplementary program for Tindouf as a significant achievement that will address citizens’ concerns in healthcare, water supply and purification, housing, and urban planning.
