The Amiri Diwan of the State of Kuwait announced the passing of Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah at the age of 86 on Saturday.
Born on June 25, 1937, in Kuwait City, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah was the sixth son of the tenth ruler of Kuwait, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, who governed the country from 1921 to 1950.
Sheikh Nawaf is survived by four sons—Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nawaf, Sheikh Faisal Al-Nawaf, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Nawaf, and Sheikh Salem Al-Nawaf—and a daughter, Sheikha Sheikha Al-Nawaf.
