Algeria:Tragic Road Accident Prompts Postponement of All Football Activities

Following the tragic road accident involving the Mouloudia El Bayadh football team, resulting in the loss of two club members, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) has announced the suspension of all football activities until further notice.

In an official statement released on its website, the football governing body stated, “In the wake of the heartbreaking incident that occurred on December 20, 2023, involving the Mouloudia El Bayadh club and its community, the FAF has decided to suspend all scheduled football activities nationwide across all categories until further notice.”

The FAF further expressed, “The two team members who tragically lost their lives are goalkeeper Zakaria Bouziani and assistant coach Khalid Miftah, both of whom were on the bus carrying the team to Tizi Ouzou for the anticipated match against JS Kabylie, scheduled for Friday as part of the 11th round of the Mobilis Professional Football League.”

Additionally, the draw ceremony for the 32nd and 16th rounds of the Algerian Football Cup 2023-2024, originally set for December 26, 2023, has also been postponed to a later date, as mentioned in the statement.
