Professor Adel Bonjar, head of the National Committee for Cancer Prevention and Control, announced the initiation of the distribution of Cancer Care Cards to socially uninsured cancer patients starting next week. This initiative comes as a direct implementation of instructions from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aiming to ensure that uninsured cancer patients receive necessary treatments without financial burden.

In a statement to the public television yesterday, Bonjar revealed that the committee has finalized arrangements, including the provision of a list of medications covered by social security. He clarified that uninsured cancer patients need only to present a medical certificate confirming their cancer diagnosis to obtain a Social Security Card from the National Social Security Fund for Salaried Workers.

This significant step reflects the Algerian government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare access and supporting cancer patients across the nation.
