Algeria-US Ties Surge: Ambassador Bouguadoum Meets Trump’s Top Advisor on Energy, Security and Western Sahara

Algeria’s Ambassador to Washington, Sabri Bouguadoum, held a high-level working session with Donald Trump’s Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs, Massad Boulos, alongside the US Embassy Chargé d’Affaires in Algiers, Mark Shapiro.

Boulos told dzwatch that the talks covered expanding American investment in Algeria’s energy sector and other key industries, strengthening the US-Algeria security partnership, and advancing regional cooperation.

He highlighted the successful visit of the US Deputy Secretary of State and AFRICOM Commander General Anderson to Algiers, noting that over 120 American companies are already operating inside Algeria — a clear sign of the growing bilateral economic momentum.

Boulos stressed that Washington deeply values Algeria’s pivotal diplomatic role in promoting peace and regional stability, including its constructive push toward a consensual resolution of the Western Sahara issue in line with UN Security Council Resolution 2797, adding that ‘the time has come to reach a solution.’
