43rd Timgad International Cultural Festival to Open on July 9

The 43rd edition of the Timgad International Cultural Festival will open next Thursday, July 9, at the new theatre in the ancient city of Timgad, in the province of Batna. The festival will continue until July 13, with performances scheduled to begin every evening at 10:00 p.m.

According to a statement issued by the festival’s organizing committee, the opening night will feature a rich artistic program bringing together several well-known names and cultural groups. The first evening will be headlined by Cheb Mami, alongside Ballet ONCI and the Rahaba troupe, offering the public a festive start to this year’s edition.

The artistic evenings will then continue over five days, with the participation of a selection of artists and musical groups. The program has been designed to offer a diverse cultural experience, combining popular music, traditional performances and contemporary artistic expressions.

This year’s festival will include a variety of shows that bring together rai music and Chaoui heritage, reflecting both modern Algerian music and the deep cultural identity of the region. The program will also feature performance shows, choreographic scenes and visual displays, creating a dynamic atmosphere for festivalgoers.

In addition to traditional and local artistic expressions, the festival will also give space to modern youth music and international sounds. This mix aims to attract a wide audience and highlight the role of the Timgad Festival as one of Algeria’s major cultural events.

Entry tickets are available at the new theatre located in the ancient city of Timgad, in Batna province. They can also be purchased online through the electronic platform fenin.dz.

Through this new edition, the Timgad International Cultural Festival seeks to celebrate art, heritage and cultural diversity, while offering the public several nights of music and entertainment in one of Algeria’s most symbolic historical sites.
