Algeria and Huawei Discuss Digital Transformation in Foreign Trade

Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rezig, received today at the ministry’s headquarters the Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Algeria, Tony Tong Shi, along with several executives from the company. The meeting was held as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation in digital transformation and to develop digital services linked to the foreign trade sector.

According to a statement from the ministry, the meeting provided an opportunity to review Huawei’s experience in the fields of digitalization, modern technologies and advanced digital solutions. The discussions also focused on how these tools could support the ministry’s strategy to modernize its services and improve the efficiency of its digital platforms.

During the meeting, both sides explored several solutions developed by Huawei in different technological fields. These solutions could contribute to simplifying procedures, improving data management and offering better digital services to economic operators, especially companies active in import and export activities.

The ministry stressed the importance of using modern digital tools to make administrative services faster, clearer and more effective. This approach is part of a broader vision aimed at improving the business environment, supporting exporters and making foreign trade procedures more accessible.

The meeting also reflected the growing role of digital technology in strengthening economic performance. By relying on innovative solutions, the foreign trade sector can improve coordination, reduce delays and provide more transparent services to users.
