Algeria and Slovenia Explore New Investment Cooperation Opportunities

The Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency, Omar Rekkache, received today, Wednesday, at the agency’s headquarters, the Ambassador of Slovenia to Algeria, Urška Kramburger Mendak, in the presence of several executives from the agency.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss ways to strengthen economic cooperation between Algeria and Slovenia, particularly in the field of investment. Both sides exchanged views on the prospects for developing cooperation between the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency and the Slovenian agency for entrepreneurship development, SPIRIT Slovenia.
This cooperation aims to encourage the exchange of experience and best practices in investment promotion, investor support and the sharing of information on available investment opportunities in both countries.
During the meeting, Omar Rekkache presented the advantages offered by Algeria’s investment climate, as well as the main investment opportunities available in several promising sectors. He invited Slovenian economic operators to explore and seize these opportunities, especially in areas where Algeria is seeking to attract productive and value-added investment.
The sectors highlighted during the discussions included the pharmaceutical industry, renewable energies, packaging and materials used for food and pharmaceutical products, as well as strategic agriculture, particularly soybean, corn and cotton production.
The talks also covered opportunities in mechanical industries, subcontracting, plastics and polymer manufacturing, which are considered important fields for industrial development and economic diversification.
In addition, the meeting addressed ways to further promote bilateral economic cooperation. This includes encouraging Algerian companies to take part in the upcoming economic exhibition scheduled to be held soon in Slovenia.
Both sides also discussed the possibility of organizing a business forum bringing together economic operators from Algeria and Slovenia. Such an initiative could help create direct contacts between companies, identify practical partnership opportunities and open new prospects for investment cooperation between the two countries.
