Oil Prices Rise as Middle East Tensions Renew Supply Concerns

Oil prices rose in trading on Friday, supported by renewed concerns over possible disruptions to global energy supplies, as geopolitical tensions continued to escalate in the Middle East.

According to market data, Brent crude futures increased by 19 cents, or 0.25 percent, settling at 76.49 dollars per barrel. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude also gained 19 cents, equivalent to 0.26 percent, reaching 72.27 dollars per barrel.

The rise reflects the growing caution among investors and traders, who are closely monitoring developments in the region and their possible impact on oil production, transportation and global supply routes. Any instability in the Middle East, one of the world’s most important energy-producing regions, can quickly influence prices and increase uncertainty across international markets.

Market data also showed that both benchmarks are heading toward strong weekly gains. Brent crude has risen by around 6 percent since the beginning of the week, while West Texas Intermediate is on track to record gains of nearly 5 percent.

These increases have been mainly driven by persistent fears that regional tensions could affect oil supplies, especially if the situation leads to disruptions in key transport routes or production areas. Energy markets remain highly sensitive to geopolitical risks, particularly when they involve regions that play a central role in global oil flows.

Analysts believe that traders will continue to follow political and security developments closely in the coming days. While market movements remain moderate for now, any further escalation could add more pressure to prices and reinforce concerns about supply stability.

For energy-importing countries, rising oil prices may also increase worries about inflation and production costs. For producers, however, the current situation highlights once again the strong link between geopolitical developments and global energy markets.
