Women’s National Football Team Receives Distinguished Welcome

Algeria's women's national football team returned home on Monday evening, receiving a distinguished welcome after their participation in the Women's Africa Cup of Nations. The team arrived carrying bronze medals, having secured third place in the tournament, a result that also marked their historic qualification for the Women's World Cup finals. This performance is recognized as the best in the national team's history at the African championship.

The players, under coach Farid Ben Stetie, were greeted by a celebratory reception upon their arrival from Morocco. Walid Sadi, President of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF), was present to congratulate the team on their achievement. He was joined by FAF Vice Presidents Nasser Charab and Mohamed El Amine Maslouk, along with Federal Bureau Member Nesrine Gattai and Secretary General Nadir Bouznad.

The team’s success, which included defeating the Moroccan team in the ranking match, has brought significant national pride. Their bronze medal finish and the historic qualification for the Women's World Cup represent a landmark moment for Algerian women's football, underscoring the team's exceptional performance on the continental stage.
