Desert Warriors Qualify for 2027 Women’s World Cup, Earn Fair Play

Algeria's women's national football team has concluded its WAFCON 2026 participation with a historic achievement, securing the bronze medal and the fair play award. This remarkable performance also ensured the "Desert Warriors" qualified for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup, marking their debut at the global tournament. Their journey to the semi-finals of the WAFCON secured their coveted spot among the continent's elite heading to the World Cup.

The third-place finish represents Algeria's best-ever result in the history of its participation in the continental championship, adding significant value to this accolade. Beyond the sporting success, the national team was also honored with the fair play award, recognizing the discipline and sportsmanship demonstrated throughout the competition. The team captain received the award during the ceremony, reflecting the positive image projected by the players and coaching staff.
