National Beach Volleyball Squads Win Olympic Qualifier Matches

Algeria's national beach volleyball teams have achieved significant victories at the African Championship currently underway in Alexandria, Egypt. The men's team secured a 2-0 win against Nigeria, while the women's team triumphed over Burundi. This continental tournament, which began on August 18 and concludes on August 22, serves as a crucial qualifying event for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
The Algerian women's team showcased a powerful performance in their match against Burundi, part of the group stage competition. Playing on court number three, they decisively won the first set with a score of 21-13. Maintaining their dominance, the team then clinched the second set 21-14, securing a positive start in Group C of the tournament.
In parallel, the Algerian men's beach volleyball squad delivered a decisive 2-0 victory over their Nigerian counterparts. Both Algerian teams are competing among 45 teams representing 28 African nations, all vying for top honors in one of the continent's most prominent beach volleyball events. The champions of both the men's and women's categories will earn direct qualification to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
