Renowned French coach, Hervé Renard, shared his thoughts on being considered by Algerians to lead the national team, “Les Verts,” following Djamel Belmadi’s official departure after the elimination from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

In a statement to “Al-Bilad Net,” Renard expressed, “I am under contract with the French Football Federation until August, serving as the coach for the women’s national team in the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.”

Despite being grateful for the Algerians’ trust in him, Renard acknowledged the discussions around his potential role with the Algerian national team after the Olympic Games.

It’s worth noting that Algerians have actively discussed Renard as a potential successor to Belmadi. The recent confirmation of the amicable separation between Belmadi and the Algerian Football Federation, as announced by FA President Walid Sadi, has fueled these speculations.
