Algeria Launches Permanent Scientific Research Committee to Drive Tech Innovation in Postal Sector

Algeria’s Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerrouki, has officially presided over the inauguration of the Permanent Sectoral Committee for Scientific Research and Technological Development — a bold institutional step aimed at elevating research capabilities and bridging the gap between universities, research centers, and the real needs of the sector.

Speaking exclusively to dzwatch, Minister Zerrouki emphasized that the committee will serve as a strategic platform for scientific and technological coordination, bringing together representatives from across the sector’s institutions alongside leading national experts and researchers.

The committee is tasked with studying and proposing strategic directions for research and technological development in postal services and modern technologies, while championing national innovation and the production of homegrown tech solutions tailored to the sector’s future challenges.

This initiative reflects Algeria’s accelerating drive to align its institutions with the rapid digital and technological transformations reshaping the world, positioning the country as a regional leader in innovation-driven public services.
