Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, received a phone call from his American counterpart, Antony Blinken, regarding the developments in the Gaza Strip.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that the two ministers particularly exchanged views on the initiative announced by U.S. President Joe Biden, which aims to halt hostilities in the Gaza Strip, enhance the delivery of humanitarian aid, and prepare for the reconstruction of the region.

The ministers also discussed the conditions necessary for the United Nations Security Council to adopt this initiative.

Minister Ahmed Attaf emphasized the importance of seizing the opportunities presented by this initiative to ensure that it aligns with the goal of achieving a permanent ceasefire, ending the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza, and ultimately serving as a step toward a final, just, and lasting resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state in accordance with international legitimacy and the growing will of the international community.
