A Canadian delegation comprising several business leaders visited the headquarters of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council.

Led by the Canadian Ambassador to Algeria, Michael R. Callan, the delegation’s visit on Tuesday coincided with their participation in the 55th International Algiers Fair, held from June 24 to 29 at the Exhibition Palace in Algiers.

This visit provided an opportunity for Canadian business leaders to meet with their Algerian counterparts to discuss business opportunities in various sectors such as pharmaceuticals, mining, renewable energy, food industries, agriculture, and training.

Additionally, this visit serves as a precursor to a significant business mission involving around sixty Algerian companies scheduled to visit Montreal from July 7 to 14. This mission aims to revitalize economic, trade, and investment relations with Canada.

The mission’s agenda includes a rich program of activities, industrial site visits, and meetings with companies and organizations active in the Canadian economic and investment ecosystem.

In a statement to APS, the President of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council, Kamel Moula, emphasized that the large number of Canadian business leaders visiting Algeria demonstrates their keen interest in the Algerian market and highlighted the “attractiveness” of Algeria’s investment law.

He added, “These business leaders are visiting Algeria to explore business opportunities, and we are working to establish connections between them and their Algerian counterparts to explore business opportunities and develop partnerships.”

The Canadian Ambassador to Algeria stated that “Algeria offers favorable conditions for foreign investors.”

Callan noted that “Algeria’s investment law provides significant opportunities for Canadian stakeholders,” highlighting that the visiting delegation represents several sectors.

The ambassador further explained that Canadian investors are interested in various sectors in Algeria, ranging from new technologies to agriculture, aviation, and general training.
